Reptile Club

Location: U128

This club focuses on the following:

1.   Learning about keeping reptiles as pets and what represents good, responsible animal husbandry.

2.   Learning about the interesting natural history of reptiles (which includes snakes, turtles, lizards, alligators, and crocodiles).

3.   Learning which species make good pets and how to acquire healthy captive-born specimens.

4.   Explore the captive breeding of reptile species.

5.   Attend local events (reptile expos, museum events, field studies).

6.  Set up a hands-on display for the annual Reptile Day event at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh.

7.   Taking part in the care of the boa constrictors currently in my room in order to learn first hand about the correct handling and care of a popular pet reptile species.

8.   Learning about the reptile industry here in the United States. Attending a reptile show to meet professional reptile breeders and learn about the animals.
