Trip Expectations and Guidelines
We have a number of faculty members who will be
chaperoning the trip as well as the staff members at the places we are visiting.
We expect the best behavior from our students and we expect them to abide by all
school rules on the trip as well as those set by the staff members of the places
we are visiting. We will not
hesitate to call you to pick up your son or daughter if his or her behavior is
not clearly meeting our expectations.
We do ask that you review the policies of the trip with your son or
daughter and then sign and return the form as directed.
We will also need a phone number to reach you in the unfortunate event
that we may need to call you.
Remember, students, are
representing
Exemplary behavior is
expected!!
Cary Academy, the Ocean Drive Resort, Alabama Theatre, Family Kingdom and The Aquarium have specific rules by which we will abide:

No alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, or illegal drugs may be
brought or used.
·
Shirts (cover-ups) and shoes must be worn at all times in public areas
·
Quiet time at the hotel is from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am
·
No noisy, destructive, or otherwise inappropriate activity in the rooms
or anywhere.
·
No tampering with fire extinguishers or smoke detectors.
·
We must leave our rooms in the hotel and the buses in a clean, orderly
fashion.
·
There will be other guests at the hotel.
We must be certain that we do not interfere in any way with
their visits.
Additional expectations:
·
Hotel room phones will not be available for use.
Pay phones are available and may be used to call home.
Students may bring cell phones.
·
Students are expected to be in their assigned rooms at the designated
times and to stay in their rooms after “lights out”.
·
During free time, students must inform a teacher chaperone of
their whereabouts, they must travel in pairs (at least) with a member of the
same gender, and they must remain in the specified boundaries.
·
Students are expected to treat all hotel and other personnel and
School Rules: (With the exception of some of the dress code rules, all school rules apply. However these may require repeating.)
·
Students are prohibited from bringing knives or weapons of any sort.
·
Students are prohibited from bring matches or lighters of any sort.
·
Profanity and abusive language are not acceptable.
·
No fighting or violent horseplay.
Students will be given a suggested “what to bring” list in advance of the trip.
Attire needs to be appropriate for our activities.
