Printer
Connections performed at logon time
At login time for a student/faculty member, a connection
is automatically made to the printer in that room and it is
set as the default printer. There are some of the smaller
faculty work rooms that do not have printers and the default
for these rooms is directed to the nearest faculty room with
a printer.
Other
methods of Connecting to Printers
To connect to the printer that is not default for current
location you need to follow simple procedure:
- Click on Start button and go to "Printers and
Faxes".
- Click on Add Printer under printer tasks.
- Choose Network Printer and click Next.
- Choose "Find a printer in the directory" and
click Next.
- You should receive a dialog windows similar to the
one on figure 1.
- At this point you can type Printer Name and click on
Find Now. In many cases you don't know what printer name
then it will be much easier for you to type Room Number
under Location where desired printer is located. If you
all you need is print your document on particular
printer model just type it under the Model.
- You can explore Features and Advanced tabs on your
own to find additional ways to connect to printers.

Naming
Conventions
The naming convention for printers is based upon building
and room number. Example: U108PR01
represents the following:
U - Upper School
108 - Room number
PR - Printer
01 - First occurance of a printer.
