Borrowing Policies at Area Colleges

NC State

CA students may only borrow by becoming a Friends of the Library member. 

Cost: Annual membership fee of $100 plus a $50 annual fee for library borrowing privledges.

Procedure: Fill out a borrowing permit application and parental permission form.  ID required.  (Cary Academy student ID, license, permit etc..) 

Where: The circulation desk at D.H. Hill Library  

Hours: any time the library is open

Duke University

CA students may borrow from the main book collection in Perkins Library.  (10-book limit) 

Cost: $100 annual fee 

Procedure: Fill out a borrowing application.  ID required (Cary Academy ID, permit, license) 

Where: The circulation desk at Perkins Library 

Hours: Any time the library is open

Faculty- $100 annual fee, $75 for alumni.  Cary Academy ID required.

UNC- Chapel Hill

CA students may apply for a borrower's card at Davis Library, the Health Sciences Library, and the Law Library.

Cost: $25 annual fee and $5 fee for replacing a lost card. 

Procedure: Fill out a borrowing application and parental consent form.  Picture ID required (Cary Academy ID, permit, license)  Must be at least 14-years-old. 

Where: The circulation desk at Davis Library, Health Sciences or Law Library. 

Hours: Any time the library is open

Faculty- $25 annual fee. $5 fee for lost card.  Cary Academy ID required.
