The Nurse's Office at Cary Academy
Your School Nurse is Judy Rodocker. The nursing office is located in the Middle
School, room 102, and our hours are from 8AM until 4PM, Monday through Friday.
She is here to
assist students with their immediate health needs as well as with chronic health problems.
Nursing responsibilities include the following:
- providing emergency care in the event of illness or injury
- supervising prescribed treatments and administration of medicines to students
- collaborating with other staff to prevent health problems from becoming reasons for
educational or social failures
- providing health assessment of students as needed
- participating in identification of students with special health needs
- initiating referrals and follow-up for students with specific or suspected health problems
- acting as liaison between community (health department, physicians, and clinics) and
Cary Academy
- conducting in-service training programs on health matters for school personnel
- developing and implementing school health policies in cooperation with school personnel and
community resources
- providing individual counseling in health education to students, parents, and staff
- coordinating school health services including health screening and
immunization review
- serving as leader in the school for communicable disease control to limit or eliminate
the threat of any communicable disease affecting students and staff
