Orchestra Classes

This is the program designed for CA students who are interested in playing a musical instrument, and want to develop their playing skills or their enjoyment of orchestral music.

In this class the students will learn music from the literature of the world's greatest composers in all music periods.

Playing in the small chamber group or big symphony orchestra are an excellent means of cultivating not only the individual expression of each instrument, but also the teamwork and unity among the parts. The students will learn and enjoy to produce the beautiful melodies and elegant orchestra music. Therefore, it improves student’s musicianship and exerts a beneficial influence on the molding of the student’s character and personality.

My goal is to provide the students with the best environment for learning, understanding, and appreciating orchestral music. This includes improving individual playing skills, ear training, the ensemble skills, learning some important musical theories, orchestra knowledges.

What my students can learn from these classes?

Collaboration and Teamwork

Students will benefit from Collaboration and Teamwork as the orchestra coordinates each student's abilities into a central effort. Students develop the feeling of group loyalty and motivation as they learn to collaborate, and this collaboration stimulates and defines the essential feeling of belonging.

Innovation and Concentration

Attention to detail is vital in all areas, especially in discovery and innovation area. Concentration which is learned in the orchestra often carries over to other areas. Much evidence shows that instrumental music education can improve study habits and increase intellectual understanding and curiosity.

Excellence and Personal achievement

Excellence and Personal Achievement Recognizing and overcoming a challenge may be the one of most rewarding experiences of musical study. Orchestra class offers this opportunity by providing a performance experience where growth and fulfillment can occur for both the individual and the group.

Discipline

Appreciation

Appreciation Orchestra students learn respect and appreciation for aesthetic values and the beauty of the music created.

A career

Few young orchestra participants possess the talent, drive and self discipline necessary to create a performing career; but the achievement of maximum individual potential can lead to college scholarships and other financially beneficial arrangements... and possibly the accolades of music aficionados everywhere!
