Yiying Qiao
Mr. Yiying Qiao's teaching career starts in 1978 at Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China. He taught strings and coached the ensembles in the Minority Advanced Program for 13 years. In 1993, after received his MM from James Madison University in USA, he took the string teacher position at Amadeus Music School in New York City for 2 years (1993-1995). From 1995 to now, he works as a string teacher and orchestra director in Carolinas.
From 1978 to 1991, a number of his students won the National Competitions, one of his student won 2nd place from Tchaikovsky Jr. Violin Competition in Moscow Russia in 1992. In Oct. 7th 2003, his former student (1986-1991) Menla Huang won Paganini International Violin Competition in Italy. Moreover, the numbers of excellent musicians who played in famous orchestra or music organizations in USA such as Din Xin (Boston Symphony), Tangron Yan (Chicago Symphony), they were all his students in their early study years.
Mr. Qiao received several awards includes: "Excellent String Teacher" from National Music Talent Show Competition Committee in 1989 in China; Fei Minyi Young Musician and Educator Award in Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1990. After he moved to US many of his students won the all state competitions and his student orchestra won the festivals and competitions. His orchestra was invited to perform for NC Music Educator Conference in Winston Salem NC in 2004 and also on the stage of the Boston Symphony Hall in National Band and Orchestra Festival of Gold in 2005.
Currently Mr. Qiao is a member of MENC and ASTA. Before came US, he was a member of Chinese Musician Committee and a member of Children Music Educator Committee.
Mr. Qiao also played violin and viola in numerous symphony orchestras in past two decades which includes: Shanghai Philharmonic, JMU Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, New York Staten Island Philharmonic, Longby Philharmonic in Myrtle Beach, and NC Opera House Philharmonic.
There are four members in his family: Mr. Qiao and his wife Yunling Chen and two sons Xian Qiao and Alex Qiao. His wife takes care all the homework and she is also a busy teacher for Alex.

The student Pan Yiqun won 2nd place in Tchaikovsky Jr. Violin Competition in Moscow Russia in 1992.
