Multimedia Technologies ART 760
Philosophy:
In past years the Multimedia class has provided in depth study of audio and video technologies. Over these years as Cary Academy students have received more and more training in the Middle School in these technologies the MM class has had to adjust it's material so that we don't teach stuff that students have already learned. Also over the years technical changes have brought new products and procedures into the classroom. One example: beginning in 2008-09, students will no longer be using HTML code to make their web sites. Instead they will use templates in Final Site.
Because of these changes, this year, we will explore with students, taking a different approach to learning advanced multimedia technologies. For the first few days of class, with help from students who have taken this class before, this year's students will design the class. We will do this in a way that accomplishes the students' desires but at the same time strengthens any weak areas.
We'll try to start depending more on using a mentoring/exploring philosophy rather than a teacher-deliver-content approach.
