Meet Mrs. Williams
Hello! I am Leslie Williams and I teach middle school math here at Cary Academy. Let me tell you a little about myself.

First, know you are in good hands. My degree is in Middle School Math Education from NCSU and I started working with students while I was in college. During the summer of 1994 I graduated and that fall started teaching math at a middle school in Sanford, NC. After two years, I decided to teach adults how to use computers and became a software trainer in Raleigh. My career as a software trainer took me to many different companies and I supported people with a variety of careers. After four years, I missed teaching children and decided to return. I have been teaching middle school math ever since. In addition, I started tutoring during college and have tutored early elementary math through Algebra 2 since the early 1990's. So, I know what you have learned and will learn in math at school, and have seen the business world where you are headed.

I was recently married, so you might hear older students refer to me as Ms. Franklin. Here is a picture from my wedding. (Yes, that is Mr. RM and his wife marrying us.) Click here for more wedding pictures from May 6, 2006.
Here is a picture of my nephew, Caleb, with my mother. I have one sister and this is her son.
One of my passions is animals. I run an animal club that you can read all about in this website (click here for more information) for all of you that also love animals.  Have you ever seen a llama close up?

I have four wonderful pets that bring great joy to my life. Mikey is the black and white dog and Moses is the brown dog. I also have two cats, Sid (the boy) and Simone (the girl). They all keep each other very entertained!

My other hobby is dancing, which is how I met my husband (in the left picture). Over the past ten years I have learned swing dancing and hustle dancing, along with other types of dancing that require a partner. It's a lot of fun!

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and I look forward to getting to know you this school year!
