Back to Partnership Home Back to Committees Committee Meeting Minutes, 05/30/00 Present: Don Berger, Denise Goodman, John Lucy, Lori Mason, Dot Rosenbaum, Bob Roth Don Berger, chairperson, called the meeting to order at 4:40 P.M. Don informed the committee that the division heads had not yet developed the optional form for parents to complete regarding religious, cultural, academic, and personal information. They anticipate completing this form to include in the July mailing to parents. The Advancement Office anticipates revising the Guide to Parent Involvement during the summer. The committee once again discussed the Admissions staff’s snapshot of the school, At-A-Glance. A few more revisions were suggested. The committee then reviewed the leadership team’s Parent Communication Paths. We proposed adding an organizational chart to this document and suggested it be included in the July mailing. Finally, we discussed issuing the Family-School Partnership Expectations. Note there are ten items on the parent list and eleven on the Cary Academy list. We suggested sending this document to prospective Cary Academy families along with acknowledgement of receipt of the first page of the application. The Family-School Partnership Expectations could be provided to existing families at the beginning of the 2000-2001 school year and via the proposed parent handbook. We anticipate all four of the above documents will be posted on the CA intranet website. Don expressed a desire for this committee to continue its work during the 2000-2001 school year. It is likely that several of the active members will remain. New members will be recruited. The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 P.M. No date was set for the next meeting. Respectively submitted, Bob Roth |
