Application for Campus Improvements 

Proposed Project: Stadium Press Box

Purpose: The press box will allow for all weather administration of athletic events at the stadium field (boys and girls soccer, lacrosse, boys and girls track and field).  By adding an all weather structure, event officials will be better able to administer events (scoring, announcing, general administrative needs).  All athletic events, MS field day, US powder puff football, and any event in the stadium would benefit from this structure.  .

Scope of Work: The press box would be mounted at the rear of the existing concrete seating structure (west) at the stadium.  All work would be completed by GT Grandstands or their designees within 4 - 6 weeks of the actual order date.  No change to landscaping is foreseen. 

Academic / Curriculum Needs:  Not applicable.

Funding: The press box will be funded entirely through a fund raising effort handled through the CA Athletic Booster Club. 

Annual maintenance will include occasional pruning, watering for the first year only, and usual pest control. These are self-sustaining, mostly indigenous plants and should require no additional budget considerations for maintenance.

Appropriateness: The design follows the specifications of the Campus Master Plan.  The preferred color scheme is the school's royal blue.  Additionally, the press box has been a request from parents, students, and coaches on a yearly basis.
