Application for Campus Improvements

Proposed Project: State the project’s title.

Purpose: Discuss the need for this project. Indicate how it will enhance the academic or social experiences of the community at CA. How many students will benefit from this project?

Scope of Work: Describe the project’s location and the improvements to be made to the site. List the plants and hardscape materials to be used. State when and by whom the work on site will be accomplished.

Academic / Curriculum Needs: How will this project address unmet needs or enhance the curriculum needs at CA? Detail teacher and departmental support of project; discuss the teaching strategies employed in the design or operation of this project. Indicate what assurances can be made that the faculty will continue to use these improvements once the project is completed

Grounds / General Improvements: How will this project improve the grounds on campus? How are these improvements compatible with or complementary to the existing improvements on campus?

Funding: Present the details of a budget to construct this project. Annual maintenance funds should be included as an additional cost projection. Discuss sources for funding and present evidence that funds are or could soon be available for an approved project.

Appropriateness: Does this project conform to the land use and the design guidelines contained in the Campus Master Plan? Indicate how this project supports the principles contained in the Campus Master Plan. How did you engage the broader community in determining the details of and support for this project?

  • Details of plants and materials to be used
  • Financial presentation with budget and income sources listed
  • Letters or petitions of community and/or departmental support
