The Facilities Committee continues to evaluate and make recommendations that address Cary Academy’s physical space needs and appearance. To accomplish this task in an effective manner that encourages community involvement, we would like the participation of our school’s divisions and departments.  

The Facilities Committee used a similar survey in Spring 2000 to produce the comprehensive plan adopted by the Board of Directors in May 2000 (to see this plan and our progress visit http://web1.caryacademy.org/committees/campus/default.htm.  It is time to again gather community input, evaluate progress made on the initial plan, and produce a new Facilities Plan. 

To that end we are asking each major division and area of the school to evaluate its space needs and physical appearance. Think about the present as well as what you would like to see in the future (defined as the next five to seven years). 

To help you ascertain your needs, please consider the following questions and then fill out the attached form for each need you identify.

• Are current facilities adequate for programmatic excellence?

• How do you feel constricted now by your present space and facility?

• How is the general appearance of your area right now? How could it be better?

• If you were to enhance your program, would you need additional space and facilities?

• Dream about the ideal space and facility for your area. How would it look different than it looks now?

• Would facilities off campus enhance your program? 

Division Heads return the forms to Kim Fogleman by February 9.

Departments should work directly with and submit forms to their division heads.
