Committee Meeting Minutes, 01/10/01

Next Meeting: February 14
- Overview provided to committee on the seven mailings
since August to alumni/alumni parents.
- Announcement that the Alumni home page is active off
the CA external site (‘photo gallery’ to be added by
end of month)
- Mention of the software package that will be used by
the Advancement Office to track alumni
- Review of the success of the alumni holiday luncheon
(22 attended) and homecoming (10 alums attended)
- Discussion of how to include our alums at commencement
and commencement related-events
- perhaps premature to include in the processional:
wait until alum group is larger
- post-commencement ‘gala’ for alumni/recent
grads – welcoming Class of 2001 to alumni
community, Sunday, June 10th
- Hugh Little offered to coordinate initial
planning efforts
- Hugh, Eva May, and Melissa Phillips will
investigate bands that would be
available/associated cost – pull information
together by January 16
- Jan Vaughn will check possible outside venues
for such an event
- Notify senior parents, seniors, alums, and
alums parents re. date as soon as possible to
plan accordingly
- Current seniors to help package items included in alum
care packages – notes to alums, personalized or
otherwise, to be included written by US students
- Committee members to consider short- and long-term
goals for the committee that could be measured and
help to gauge the success of the alumni program.
Suggestions to be brought to the next meeting.
- Sam Morris to create a listserv for this committee
