MISSION: STUDENT PROFILE

 
Objective 1: Develop action steps to better communicate the admission philosophy, profile of the ideal Cary Academy student and profile of the ideal Cary Academy class.

Align “Applicant Questionnaire” with vision criteria, develop essay prompt in alignment with vision criteria Director of Admissions          
US and MS Open Houses  Director of Admissions   ongoing      
Present student profiles of at-risk admits to faculty and staff during full employee meetings.  Recommended to select students 6-12 for November training week;  select students from graduating class in June meeting; present financial aid information, including # of students as well as total $ amount granted; best done in August pre-service meeting. Director of Admissions, Head of School   ongoing      
In Access Newsletter, run a series of articles:  first article will perhaps summarize overall profile;  others would profile one student each month (alternate MS with US) who typifies one criterion;  be sure copies reach Board members, alums and parents as well as faculty and staff Marketing Coordinator          
Check with SAS on format of Access—can there be an electronic version created in addition to the hardcopy so that students could read it as well. Director of Advancement          
Use Discovery Magazine to profile an entire class in terms of that vision.  Perhaps once per year? Director of Advancement          
Strengthen “Community Builders” recognition program since it was designed to recognize students who typified our vision Head of Upper School          
Have Director of Diversity get actively involved in promoting our vision to all stakeholders and prospective families Diversity Director
