Chinese Exchange Program

At Cary Academy

In order to enhance the understanding of education, promote the cultural exchange, and develop the friendship between young people of China and America, Cary Academy started our sister school relationship in China in the year 2000 with the Affiliated High School of Peiking University (AHSPU), and from year 2005 we added the Henan Experimental High School to our sister schools list.

Our first visit to Beijing was 3/3/2000, and that year was also the 50th anniversary of AHSPU, Mr. Don Berger, our Head of School, was invited to attend the celebration in Beijing (picture above). Due to 911 and SARS we canceled our program for two years, but  in the year 2004 we went to visit AHSPU again (picture on right).

In the year 2005, we started our new relationship with Henan Experimental High School (picture left), and since then we have hosted Chinese exchange students from Henan Province for three years. Year 2006, the vice-principal Ma, Yu-Xia and 14 students, 2007, the school secretary Mr. Hu, Jia-Yu and director of international department Mr. Niu, Bing-Hua with 14 students; and 2008, the vice-principal Mr. Wu, Zhen-Min and math teacher Mr. Yao, Peng-yuan with 20 students, in general they spent 5 to 6 days here with their host families and participated activities at school. And CA students go to visit Experimental High School in He-Nan every May since 2005 as well.
