Some common compounds of Uranium:
  • UCl4 (Uranium (IV) Chloride) - highly stable compound
  • UF4 (Uranium Tetrafluoride) - used to produce pure uranium
  • UO2 (Uranium Dioxide) - brown-black powder once thought to be pure uranium

Reaction tendencies of Uranium:

  • Forms compounds with U4+ and U6+ ions, when Uranium is most stable
  • Forms a uranyl ion, UO22+
