Gallium (Ga)

Paul émile Lecoq de Boisbaudran of France found Gallium spectroscopically in 1875. Spectroscopic examination of concentrates from a Pyrenea blende showed emission lines’ positions were the same of Mendeleyve’s predicted missing element in his Period Table of the elements eka-aluminum.  Later, Paul found the free metal by electrolysis of a solution of hydroxide that is found in KOH and he called the element gallium in honor of France (Gallia) that is explained in his book that was published in 1877 "About a New Metal, Gallium”.
