100 % pure Boron is found naturally in Turkey.
The impure or amorphous, boron, a brownish-black powder, can be obtained by heating the trioxide with magnesium powder. Boron of 99.9999% purity has been produced and is commercially available.
The most common sources of boron are tourmaline, borax [Na2B4O5(OH)4.8H2O], and kernite [Na2B4O5(OH)4.2H2O].
Boron is difficult to obtain pure. It can be made through the magnesium reduction of the oxide, B2O3. The oxide is made by melting boric acid, B(OH)3, which in turn is obtained from borax.

Boron can be obtained by heating borax (Na2B4O7.10H2O) with carbon. There are other methods to obtain the element if high-purity boron is required.
