•  Beryllium will form salts with most of the non-metals such as Oxygen, Fluorine, Bromine, Iodine, Chlorine, and Hydrogen. Beryllium Oxide is the most commonly used salt.

 

  • Beryllium Salts are highly toxic and when should be handed with great care. 

 

  • Beryllium resists total oxidation in normal temperature.  Beryllium, however, will form a very thin layer of BeO around the outside layer. The thin layer of BeO is strong enough to scratch glass.
