| Chloroform (CHCl3), also known as Methyl Trichloride, is a clear, odorless liquid with a sweet odor. Apart from playing a role in many detective cases and superhero comics, chloroform was well known at beginning of the twentieth century as a powerful medical anesthetic. The discovery that the health hazards far outweighed the benefits happened fairly quickly, and the US EPA has identified it as a hazard. |
