Zidovudine is an antiviral drug which is used for treatment of HIV and AIDS. Zidovudine,  commonly known as AZT, was the first drug approved for the treatment of AIDS. It was approved by the FDA in 1987. The compound Zidovudine has the chemical formula C10H13N5O4.
