Properties and Physicality
Name: Norepinephrine or Noradrenaline
Chemical Formula: C8H11NO3
Molar Mass: 169.18 g/mol
Melting Point: L: 216.5-218 °C (decomp.)
D/L: 191 °C (decomp.)
Density is unknown.
Norepinephrine is created and released from the adrenal glands, which are atop the kidneys.
Natural Abundance is unknown.
Norepinephrine is not extracted from the body because it is needed for the regulation of bodily functions. Certain amount of hormone is needed to regulate heartbeat (since certain functions in the body are involuntary). It is even difficult to extract the hormone from the body after death because once the brain shuts down, hormone ceases to be produced from adrenal glands, (the involuntary functions not being needed anymore).

Difference between hormone (namely epinephrine) and neurotransmitter
(norepinephrine)
The hormone is released by an endocrine gland into the blood system, while a
neurotransmitter is compound released from a nerve terminal. A nerve terminal
is a fancy term for a junction between two nerve cells that allow passage of
an impulse or signal (neurotransmitter) to a direct, specific delivery place.
This is different than the hormone that is released into the blood stream and
takes longer to get to the target cell.
