Calcium Hydroxide
reacts with varying substnaces, mostly after being dissolved in water or salt
water. It is a fairly stable molecule in solid form which makes it unwilling
to realease its ions unless heated and dissolved and then reacted. Although,
it does react with carbon dioxide very succesfully, causing recarbonation. Another
example of a succesful reaction is when calcium hydroxide
is reacted with air. Calcium hydroxide forms into Calcium Carbonate, CaCO3.
Below is a diagram of how Hydrated Lime is dissolved in water.
