The KEVLARŪ body armour has the capability to stop a bullet fired from a .45 caliber gun but rarely stops anything more powerful. KEVLARŪ armour that is on Hummers and tanks are capable or stopping a 7.26mm round which is fired from an AK47 assault rifle. Kevlar has become a major asset to the military because of the strength, durability and especially the fact that Kevlar adds very little weight. These uses of KEVLARŪ have saved many lives.
