Ketamine is a drug which used to be used as an anesthetic, and is still used as an animal anisthetic. It is generally sold for about 25-50 dollars per gram at your average party, 15-25 dollars per gram in larger doses, and 10-20 dollars per gram for wholesale purchases.

Chemical name: (±)-2-(2-Chlorophenyl)-2-(methylamino)cyclohexanone (try saying that 5 times fast)
Street names: Special K, Vitamin K, New Ecstasy, Psychedelic Heroin, ketalar, ketaject, and Super-K.
Ketamine was first synthisized in 1962 by calvin stevens in the Parke Davis lab. It was used on humans as anesthesia until the 1970's, when it's harmful effects were realised. In the united states, it is illegal to possess ketamine without a licence or prescription.
Ketamine is a schedule III drug according to the FDA. Scheduleing is the way a government classifies a drug based on it's potential for addiction, and it is used to describe the legality. for example, Heroin is a schedule 1 drug. Ritalin is a Schedule 2 Drug. Ketamine is a Schedule 3 drug which means that potential for addiction isn't high, but it isn't too low either, that there is a recognized medical use, and that it is legal with prescription.
Dosage: When snorted, about 15-200 mg are used, about 25-200 mg are used when injected, and 75-300 mg are used when taken orally.
