Kerosene is a flammable pale-yellow or colorless oily liquid. Used today in jet engines and in the heating of homes it is depended upon very much today as it is derived from petroleum. Kerosene can be distilled from other things than petroleum though, as it can come from coal and other natural resources.
Kerosene is a mixture of 10 hydrocarbons containing 10 to 16 carbon atoms per molecule. This particular model contains 13 carbons per molecule.
