Welcome

We all have seen, tasted, or touched isoamyl acetate (C7H14O2) some time or another in our lives.  It is the distinctive odor, taste, and color of bananas.  However, it is combined with other compounds when it is found in a banana.  If you smell isoamyl acetate in it's natural state, you will likely experience drowsiness, a headache, a sore throat, and weakness.  Also, your eyes will turn red and start to burn.  Do not eat it either, if you do, you will experience abdominal pain, nausea, and possibly a sore throat.

Since I was not able to find a picture of the substance by itself, a picture of a banana can be found above, for those of you that haven't seen one =)
