Chlorpyrifos is a compound that is sold under the trade names Dursban or Lorsban. Lorsban is used for agriculture uses and Dursban is used for residential use. Chlorpyrifos is produced by Dow Chemicals, more specifically Dow AgroSciences, which is a subsidiary of Dow Chemicals. It is also produced by many other small companies such as Aimco and Lupin in India as well as Point Enterprises in Switzerland. Chlorpyrifos is a pesticide which falls in to the category of organophosphates which are typically older and quite often more dangerous pesticides. It is found in over 1000 pesticide related products. These products in can be used to kill everything from ants and termites to wasps and a lot of other pests.
