Most of PCP use appears to be in southern Maryland, mainly around the Prince George's, Anne Arundel, and Charles Counties. The DEA (U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency), revealed that PCP would be transported from southern California, in one gallon and three gallon containers, all the way to Washington, DC via air or bus travel.
Cost of Angel dust
Availability of the drug seems stable, however, over the past few years, the price seems to drop significantly. "In 1992, an ounce of liquid PCP sold for about $365 and declined to $320 in 1993. In 1994, an ounce of liquid PCP sold for between $350 and $400. The decrease in price for PCP may have been the result of larger amounts of this drug reaching the streets."(National Institute of Drug Use)
PCP is usually sold in 2 ways; it is usually sprayed on parsley flakes and marijuana and sold in 2.5 gram quantities inside film canisters, or in another method, liquid PCP is sold in vanilla extract bottles. When PCP is sprayed onto marijuana and parsley flakes, usually one once of liquid PCP can be sprayed onto 4 ounces of flakes and greens and placed in 8 film canisters for about 50$ each. When the liquid PCP is placed in the vanilla extract bottles, both tobacco and marijuana are dipped into the liquid and can be purchased for about 20$ each. These are called "dippers," "sherman sticks," or "illies."
"No other new sales trends for PCP have been reported in Maryland. However, reports from Washington, DC, indicate that, in street jargon, PCP is known as "water." Another trend is PCP laced with gasoline. Called "octane," this variety of PCP is also being used for "dippers" and for treating parsley."(National Institute of Drug Use)
Effects
"PCP produces impairments and other observable effects on the human mind and body that are a combination of effects produced by depressants, stimulants, and hallucinogens. Blank stare, disorientation, loss of memory, muscle rigidity, non-communicative, sensory distortions, slow slurred speech, agitation, excitement, auditory hallucinations, increased pain, threshold loss of a sense of personal identity, a feeling of extreme heat, profuse perspiration, passivity - but many users may abruptly turn violent if confronted with a threatening situation.
As with many other drugs, regular users of PCP may have developed a tolerance to the drug that masks some of the observable signs of PCP's effects. When smoked or injected, PCP's effects generally last 4-6 hours, but they can last longer. PCP can also enter the body by absorption through the skin."

In todays society, drugs have become more popular in younger adults lives. Drugs keep them going, as if a "high" were nessecary for survival. PCP is a drug that is highly addictive, and most users only use this drug to keep that artifical "high" they miss in real life.
