Ammonium Nitrate is a compound composed of ammonium and nitrate ions held together by ionic bonding. Within these polyatomic ions, however, the hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen atoms are held together with covalent bonding. The percent composition of each element can be found using the molar mass or number of atoms within the compound.
