Cocaine is the alkaloid obtained by the leaves of a coca plant native to the mountains of South America, it is native to the Andes of South America, and that is where most of the cocaine is found. A compound similar in structure to cocaine (but produced synthetically) is the novocaine. So since Novocaine is synthesized from Cocaine, in a way it also comes from the mountains of South America and is native to the Andes of South America.

The way the Novocaine is obtained is that it is synthetically synthesized from the cocaine compound. Cocaine is obtained from the leaves of the coco plant in the mountains of South America, so Novocaine indirectly is obtained from the coco plant, but really is synthesized from cocaine and is obtained from cocaine too.  

Novocaine is not a natural substance because it was synthesized meaning it does not have a natural abundance
