Hydrogen is a very versatile element. It attaches itself to almost any compound or element, and is part of the World's most valuable resource, water. If one were to look up Hydrogen in the back of a science book, one would find an overwhelming wealth of information pertaining to Hydrogen. For example one could find: Hydrates, hydraulic press, hydrides, hydrocarbons, hydrocortisone, hydrogenation, hydrogen bomb, hydrogen bromide, hydrogencarbonates, hydrolysis, hydrometer, hydrophopic, hydrophytes, hydrostatic skeleton, hydrotropism, hydroxides, and the list goes on. Hydrogen joins so easily with many elements because it has only one valence electron, and requires only two to obtain stability. For this reason Hydrogen is diatomic. Hydrogen is seen by many as a potential fuel source for the amazing amount of energy it produces, although it also happens to be flammable and explosive. For these reasons I decided to use the compound H2 as the topic for my compound web page, and to focus on the compounds potential as a fuel source.
