CO2's role in Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis: CO2
+ H2O <=> CH2O + O2.
As you can see, CO2 is key to photosynthesis. Without it, nothing on Earth could live. It is the process by which plants turn light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert the reactants of water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds. This is arguably the most important use of CO2 in the world.
