The Farming of Tobacco and how it affects the Environment:

The effort to slow the spread of tobacco caused disease sometimes runs up aganist conflicts about those who make a living from the growing tobacco. In many countries a large percentage of the tobacco used by the people is imported. These countries have little local econmic benifit. At the same time the country is suffering from all the human and economic costs of tobacco. The disposable income which these countries have will go toward othaer goods and servies like locally grown food.

It is said that there will be more positive health outcomes from the reduction of tobacco use. The domestic tobacco control policices are weak in places wehre a large amount of tobacco is grown and exported. An example of this is in Africa. About 98 percent of all the tobacco produced in Africa is exported to other countires. It has been shown that in the United States that a majority of the tobacco growers have low levels of reliance on tobacco.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES OF TOBACCO PRODUCTION

Many people feel that diseases, death, and economic  loss is caused by tobacco use. People are still questioning the long-term use of this product. Many of the tobacco produced in highly developed countires require large quantities of wood for the curing process. Wood is becoming sparse in many areas of tobacco production. Sometimes the growing of tobacco uses fertilizers and pesticides. These chemicals get into our water and cause harm to many people. The use of pesticides is unsafe and can cause poisioning and a threat to your health.

In most developed countries women and children do a lot of the work. The need for labor has also seem to interfere with the education of young children. Tobacco farmers aren't getting paid much for there hard work. Most people have concluded that the growth of tobacco is a great threat to your health. People are now saying that they would be better off if they didn't grown tobacco at all.
