CA vs URCA and CC
Last night the MS track team ran hard
and worked as a team throughout all of the events.
With 123 points by the meet’s end, our boys’ team
sailed to an comfortable victory over URCA and Cary
Christian, who each had 34 and 26 points respectively.
Thomas Graham qualified for States in the mile with a
blistering 4:53 mile; this qualifying time qualifies him to
compete in the High School State Meet. Overall, our boys
team demonstrated a great range in abilities, as athletes
such as Aaron Overton, Alex Coeytaux and Gaurav Judge
demonstrated impressive times in their respective distances
ranging from the 50M to the mile. Although our girls came in
3rd place to URCA and CC, each athlete ran well
and showed improvements. Special mention goes out to Rachel
Braun and Anna Hamilton; in the 100 hurdles and the mile
respectively, both girls showed grit and determination.
Newer athletes to the team, Anna Jamieson and Courtney
Ketzler, are to be complimented for their quick learning
curve and impressive determination. Overall, the team
performed well and they are looking forward to their meet
against Ravenscroft next week. Go Chargers!

CA – Upper Room Christian Academy – Cary Christian
Boys: CA (129) – URCA (34) – CC (129)
Girls: CA (23) – URCA (91) – CC (23)
The MS track team continues to
represent CA as a team of strong and fast athletes. Overall,
members of our boys and girls team demonstrated
determination, drive, and teamwork in their meet on March
27, 2008. Our boys moved to a swift and decisive victory
over both URCA and CC and in the process posted impressive
times in both individual and relay events. Our girls’ team,
composed of just 5 athletes, lost to CC and URCA, but this
loss does not reflect the fact that each of the girls made
improvements in their events. On the boys’ side of things,
our sprinters, led by
Aaron Overton, Gaurav Judge, Matt Lee, Matt Rushin,
clocked in fast times in events ranging from the 100 hurdles
to the 100M, 200M and 400M. Victor Walker, Joseph Cornett,
Grant Chapman, and Ethan Coeytaux ran impressive times in
the 7th grade events, and in the 600M race they
even swept 1st through 4th place!
Thomas Graham and Alex Coeytaux captured 1st and
2nd place in impressive mile performances. In the
field events, Zach Wilson, Grant Chapman, Aaron Overton,
Matt Lee, Joe Calder, Joseph Cornett, Thomas Graham and
Guarav Judge turned in great performances.
Special mention also goes to Joe Calder for a strong
1st track meet performance.
On the girls’ side of things, we are very impressed
with how hard our girls are working with only five young
women on the team. Anna
Hamilton improved her 800 meter time and came in 1st
place, adding a victory to her already fast 2nd
place finish in the mile. Our sprinting sensations Rachel
Braun, Cat Newman, and Amanda Riley improved their times in
their events. Special mention also goes to Rachel Braun for
winning 1st place in the 100 hurdles! And,
Courtney Ketzler had an outstanding first meet and came in 4th
place in the 100 hurdles. Great job athletes! We are looking
forward to our next meet against DA next week. Thanks again
for all the help from the parents!

March 19 Meet
MS Track -
CA/Ravenscroft
Despite the threat of impending
thunderstorms, the MS Track team held their own against the
weather and the Ravenscroft team last evening. For some of
the runners this was their first meet, so we were pleased to
see them try out new events, get used to the structure of
the meet, and run fast! Notable performances were had by
many of our runners. For the boys, Aaron Overton and Guarav
Judge had explosive 1st place performances in the
50M and 100M dash respectively. Aaron also placed in the 100
dash as well as the hurdles. Nick Noschese showed grit and
determination with his third place finish in the hurdles.
Our distance experts, Thomas Graham and Alex Coetaux, swept
1st and 3rd place each in the mile.
Thomas also went on to win not only the mile, but also
compete in and win the 400M, 800M, and the high jump. Our
4X100 and 4X200 relay teams swept both relays as well.
Special mention goes to super fast running, jumping and/or
throwing by Matt Rushin, Matt Lee, Zac Wilson, Victor
Walker, Joseph Cornett, Grant Chapman, Ethan Coeytaux, and
Michael Averill. All the boys raced strong and fast! On the
girl’s side of things, Coach White and I are super impressed
by the determination and teamwork demonstrated by our 4
female athletes: Anna Hamilton, Cat Newman, Amanda Riley,
and Rachel Braun. Anna took second in the mile and third in
the discus, while Rachel and Cat enjoyed successes in the
100 M dash and the discus respectively. Amanda, Anna, Cat
and Rachel are also to be commended for their hard work in
both the 4X 100 and 4X 200 meter relays. Although
Ravenscroft ended up in 1st place for both the
boys and girls, we are pleased and encouraged by our team’s
enthusiastic and hard working attitude. Go Chargers!
