In our closest margin of defeat, Cary
Academy saved it’s best 9 hole score for their last… of the
regular season. The chargers finished with an excellent
score of 155 and a couple of personal best nine hole scores.
The Chargers will be looking to continue this play into the
conference tournament on Tuesday at Prestonwood. We’ll be
looking to pull off an upset this year and over take an
unsuspecting NRCA or DA in the tournament. Good Luck

Today was quite the interesting match!
The Chargers were all over the page today. We had some high
scores, we had some low scores… and we had some scores that
didn’t count. The Chargers will be working hard over the
next few days to get back to the level of play that they
should be playing at.

Cary Academy hosted NRCA in their first
of two conference matches this week. We weren’t able to keep
our winning streak rolling but we put together some solid
scores. Today’s match showed us that we still have some
areas that we need to concentrate on in practice next time.
Our second conference match this week will be tomorrow as we
take on Durham Academy at their home. Wish us luck!

On a bleak and miserable day, in the
worst of conditions, the Cary Academy Golf team brought 6
rays of sunshine onto the golf course. Playing through the
rain and wind, the Chargers decided to pull out a couple top
performances tonight. The Chargers improved on their best
team total of the year, which was good enough to give the
Chargers their first win in the last couple years of the
program. They also posted their best 9 hole team total of
the year by 10 strokes. The Chargers will be looking to ride
this victory wave as long as it will carry them, which is
hopefully through their match Tuesday against North Raleigh
Christian Academy. Congratulations guys and girl!!! Way to
fight it out.

Cary Academy hosted Cary Christian
School in their second regular season match today. The
Chargers continued to improve by dropping another 13 strokes
from their previous low round, but were unable to keep up
with the six impressive scores posted by Cary Christian. On
an individual note, Kedar Karkare posted his first round in
competition in under 80, by shooting a nine over par, 79.
Also, Taelor Rubin posted a first by shooting her first
round in competition in under 90, by posting a nice 87. The
Chargers are showing good improvements and promise being a
very young team overall. The Chargers host Cresset Christian
School next Thursday.

The Cary Academy Chargers
hosted Durham Academy in their first regular match today.
After shaking some nerves off on the front nine the Chargers
played solid golf on the back nine, but it was still no
match for the impressive depth of Durham Academy. The
Chargers got off on a good foot though and will be looking
to improve and build on this experience with their second
match on Thursday at home against Cary Christian. Hats off
to both teams!!!

The Cary Academy golf team took four
members this year to the 3-day Palmetto High School Golf
Championships. One sophomore, Kedar Karkare, was the only
returning member from last year’s team to travel to the
event this year. He was joined this year by three new
members: sophomore, Eric Kofman; freshman, Sam Andrews; and
freshman, Paul Vandergrift. The four golfers did a great job
this year battling adverse wind conditions during the three
day event. For the first time in school history the Cary
Academy Golf team placed in the top three in their flight,
grabbing 3rd place out of 12 teams, in the 5th
flight. Kedar Karkare also grabbed second place for the
lowest individual rounds. All-in-all, the team had a great
time participating in this event and we’re looking forward
to getting our season started after a great season opening
tournament! Cary Academy will be playing against Durham
Academy in their first match of the regular season at home
on Tuesday.
