CA vs. Carrboro High School 2 - 0
The varsity

a 2-0 away victory against Carrboro High School. The first
half was scoreless thanks to solid play in the midfield by
Yaz Mansour, Elizabeth Trent, Katja Kleine, Reagan Atkins,
Grace Martini, Ava Britt, and Kelsey Parker all despite an
uneven field resulting in numerous bouncing balls.
Goalkeeper Emily Bissett is credited with four saves in the
first half. The Chargers steadied in the second half
and dominated play early on, spending significant time in
the opponent's circle. Tyler Powell, Savannah Crockett, and
Kelly Bolick kept the pressure on the defense. Madison
Slate scored with 20 minutes to go in the half through
congestion from close range, assisted by Kelsey Parker and

breakaway sequence with 5 minutes to go in the game,
when Kelly Bolick dodged and pushed the ball up the left
side and Madison Slate scored on a laser from 15 feet. The
win evened the record for the Cary Academy Chargers, who
posted the best season in the history of the program. The
team now awaits the results of a seeding meeting on Sunday,

one of 8 teams selected to receive a bid to the NCISAA state
field hockey tournament.
Mrs. Porter

congratulations to all those who have so graciously given
their time and talents in support of this successful field
