CA vs. Parrot Academy 1 - 1
The Chargers had their last game of
the season vs. Parrot Academy resulting in a 1-1 tie.
It was a fantastic and very exciting game!
The Chargers started out a little slow, the
defense working hard.
However, a goal from the edge of the circle
rocketed into the goal early in the 1st half.
The Chargers kept them at 1 until the halftime.
The 2nd half was a completely different team, the
offense driving down Parrot's side, taking multiple
drives in their circle, and working their defense hard.
Kat Dubiansky sealed the tie with a post shot
into Parrot's goal.
The last 5 minutes showed a very aggressive,
dedicated, well formed offense. However, the clock was
against us and we failed to score the winning goal.
Stripes go to the entire starting offensive line!
Coach Anna and Coach Bonnye would like
to thank all the players, their parents, and everyone
who came out to support our team.
It's been a great year, and we are both proud of
the dedication and growth the girls have shown.
GO
CHARGERS!

CA @ Ravenscroft 1 - 2
The Chargers traveled to Ravenscroft
today, losing 2-1.
However, the girls played excellent, with great
give and go passes between Kelsey Miller, Tara Aida, and
Amanda Riley. Ravenscroft scored their first goal early
in the first half.
The Chargers, however, responded with 4 offensive
corners.
After halftime, Ravenscroft scored their 2nd goal.
The Chargers, however were not ready to give up
and Kelsey Miller, assisted by Kathleen Baryenbrauch and
Bailey Plymyer, slapped the ball into the goal.
Despite the score, the Chargers played one of
their most offensive games of the season, despite the
Ravenscroft older, bigger team.
We look forward to our last game of
the season versus Parrot Academy on Thursday.
Stripes go to the entire team for
great game play!

CA vs. Durham Academy 0 - 1
Perfect weather for field hockey!! The
Chargers hosted Durham Academy today for the 2nd time
this season ending in a disappointing 0-1 loss.
The Chargers played a very strong defensive game,
saving 19 corners, and quite a few shots on goal.
However, the defense just couldn't keep the ball
out of the goal the last 5 minutes of the second half.
Strong attempts to bring the ball up the field
were led by Amanda Riley, Jacky Gordon, and Shelley
Warner. The
Chargers look forward to traveling to Ravenscroft next
Wednesday.
Defensive Stripes:
Emma Schlamm and Marion Brown Offensive Stripes:
Amanda Riley, Jacky Gordon, Shelley Warner

CA vs. Culbreth Middle School 0 - 1
The Chargers suffered another very
disappointing loss today at Home vs. Culbreth Middle.
The defense definitely got a workout, but put up
a valiant fight against Culbreth's very strong Offense.
Though corner after corner was called, defense
never gave up the fight.
Defense Marion Brown kept the Chargers in the
game with her strong free hits, giving offensive and mid
players Amanda Riley and Jacky Gordon some very
impressive breakaways.
Jacky Gordon, new to the offensive line, had our
only shot on goal, though it fell just short.
Despite the heat, the lack of subs, and 2 missing
starters, the Chargers put up a heck of battle.
Defensive Stripes: Marion Brown for
her wonderful free hits. Emma Schlamm for some really
good last minute saves!
Offensive Stripes: Jacky Gordon and
Bailey Plymyer for their shots on goal

CA @ Smith Middle School 0 - 1
The Chargers
suffered a very disappointing loss against Smith Middle
with a final score of 0-1. The long week ended
definitely took its toll on the team, resulting in very
sluggish play. Despite the loss, the Chargers
defense put up a heck of a game, led by Emma Schlamm
recently off injury, Cat Newman with a beautiful reverse
sweep, Marion Brown showing some great field work, and
Lauren Pederson who stopped multiple breakaways by
Smith. We hope to bring back our energy for
tomorrow's game vs. Culbreth!
Offensive Stripes:
Jacky Gordon for great play as a forward. Kelsey
Miller for her very vocal defense for CA ball
possession.
Defensive Stripes: Emma Schlamm for some great defensive
work. Cat Newman for her incredible reverse sweep!

CA hosts Ravenscroft 0 - 0
The Chargers played their best
defensive game of the season today, hosting Ravenscroft
ending in a 0-0 tie.
Ravenscroft played a very offensive game, forcing
our defense to step up.
Backs Lauren Pederson, Marion Brown, Cat Newman,
and Quinn Jenkins had some miraculous saves.
Samantha Amick was also on top of her game,
blocking multiple shots on goal.
There were times when we were sure Ravenscroft
just scored, but a defensive player would step up and
knock it right out!
Everyone played great today, and we look forward
to next week's game against Smith Middle.
Defensive stripes: Lauren Pederson,
Marion Brown, Cat Newman, Quinn Jenkins for all their
great defensive plays and saves
Offensive: Kathleen Baryenbruch for
her fantastic save on goal.

CA @ Parrott Academy 2 - 1
The Middle School Field Hockey team
triumphed over Parrot Academy on Tuesday in a 2-1
victory, the first win of the season.
The first goal was scored by Tara Aida (from a
Shelly Warner pass) with a beautifully hit ball from the
top of the circle with a little more than 19:00 minutes
left in the first half.
The Chargers stayed strong and remained in
control of the game throughout the first half.
Kelsey Miller persevered and banged in a pass
from Emily Schramm, after a short scrammble infront of
the cage.
Despite a second half goal by Parrot Academy, the
Chargers continued to dominate the game as the clock
ticked down.
Quinn Jenkins and Emma Schlam kept the ball out of the
defensive circle, showing skill and determination time
after time.
An all around excellent game and continuing improvement
insures a successdul rest of the season for the
Chargers.

CA @ Durham Academy 1 - 2
The Chargers traveled to Durham today
to play Durham Academy resulting in their first goal of
the season!
The game started out very exciting, with the Chargers
playing very offensively.
Tara Aida and Kelsey Miller stepped up as
forwards for the first time, keeping the ball
aggressively in DA's side of the field and taking a very
early shot on goal.
DA, however, scored their first goal on an
offensive corner 24 minutes into the 1st half. After
half time he Charger's came out a little tired , letting
DA push down the field and score a second goal.
The Charger's however, responded with their own
goal, the first in the season, with an offensive corner
pushed out by Shelley Warner and slammed into the DA
goal by Bailey Plymyer.
A great gamed played by all the girls!!
Stripes go to the entire team, with
assist and goal stripes to Bailey Plymyer and Shelley
Warner

CA @ Culbreth Middle School 0 - 2
The team played away at Culbreth with
a disappointing 0-2 loss. Culbreth's superior hit,
aggression, and drives kept the Chargers from their
circle, letting us have only 1 clear shot on goal.
The offense simply couldn't keep the ball down
across the 50 long enough.
Defense played a very strong game, with very good
tackling, and multiple free hits out of our circle.
Hopefully we'll see more energy and aggression
from the team tomorrow at Durham Academy.
Offensive Stripe:
Tara Aida for her great attempt as a forward for
the 1st time!
Defensive Stripe:
Lauren Pederson for her stopping the ball from
coming down her side of field almost every time it came
down.

CA @ Phillips Middle School 0 - 3
Wow! What a great game!
The Charger's looked like an entirely different
team from last week! The Chargers played Phillips again
today with a spectacular first half.
The first 5 minutes the Chargers played very
offensively, pushing Phillip's back into their own
circle. The
score was 0-0 by the half, with some excellent saves by
goalie Samantha Amick.
However, the Chargers came out a little more
tired and not as aggressive, letting 2 goals in the
first 6 minutes of the 2nd half.
With 20 defensive corners, the team got tired and
another goal slipped in by the last 8 minutes.
However, the team got their confidence back and
forced Phillips back the last 5 minutes of the game,
playing very offensively.
A very exciting game for the season!
Offensive Stripes:
Bailey Plymyer for shutting out Phillip's best
player.
Kelsey Miller for her great jabbing and stick work.
Shelley Warner for her amazing free hits.
Defensive Stripes:
Cat Newman for her awesome flying, free hits, and
defensive work.
Emma Schlam for her aggressive defensive play.
Quinn Jenkins for playing a really hard and
aggressive defense.

Middle School.

offensive play.

CA hosts Phillips Middle School 0 - 5
The Chargers opened their season
against Phillips Middle School in a 0-5 loss.
Phillips's great drives and better stick work led
to a quick goal in the first 3 minutes of the game, and
a 2nd soon after.
After a time-out the Chargers came out more
aggressive, and played a very offensive game the last 12
minutes of the first half. Emma Schlam, coming off a
recent injury played a very defensive game, keeping
Phillips back.
The second half showed a more tired
Charger team, but they still played very hard, bringing
the ball up to Phililp's circle on several occasions.
We look forward to our next game
Wednesday against Smith Middle School.
Defensive stripes: Emma Schlam and
Samantha Amick Offensive stripes: Jacky Gordon, Shelley
Warner, and Kelsey Miller
