Summer XC / Running Camps

Varsity XC athletes: remember, you don’t need to go to a running camp to be a great runner – you just need to RUN ALL SUMMER and follow the Summer Training program I gave you. (If you don’t have a Summer Training program, make sure you get one from me before the summer starts.) However, if you would like to go to a running camp and you think it would help motivate you this summer, the attached info will be helpful.

*COACH BENSON'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN CROSS COUNTRY CAMP
- Asheville, North Carolina

Located at UNC - Asheville, in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, this camp is one of the oldest in the country. Coach Benson is dedicated to annually refining the camp activity schedule and curriculum. Daily training sessions combined with informative guest lectures provides all runners with the opportunity to improve by training harder and smarter.

Duke University provides campers with an inside look at how the Blue Devils have established themselves among the nation’s premier athletic programs. The running and pole-vaulting camps include instruction on event strategies, form drills, speed and strength training, nutrition, sports psychology, college athletics and off-season training ideas.

- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Train at the University of Pennsylvania's historically famed Franklin Field this summer and experience the site where some of the century's best collegiate and professional athletes have competed over the years. Directed by Penn Head Women's Cross Country and Track Coach, Gwen Harris, the Nike Track and Field Camp at the University of Pennsylvania help high school athletes learn the techniques, strategies and skills they need to become champions.
