CA @ Ravenscroft 34 - 31
The JV boys
traveled to Ravenscroft to play
against the home team in the finals
of the JV basketball tournament in
2008. The Ravenscroft boys and the
Chargers came in with identical 6-1
records in the conference this
season having tied for the regular
season title and each having won
it's semi-final games. The Chargers
were prepared for a battle as they
felt they had worked all season long
to get to this point and were very
excited to be a part of the game.
The first quarter started
slowly offensively as the Chargers
were only able to put eight points
on the scoreboard. However, their
stifling "black" press had the
Ravens confused as they could only
score five of their own for the
period. The Chargers also managed to
win the second quarter 9-8 and took
a four point lead into the locker
room 17-13. Although it was a low
scoring first half, the boys were
excited to be only 14 minutes from a
TISAC title. The Chargers made a few
offensive adjustments in the locker
room at halftime but were unable to
make any shots in the third quarter
as they were outscored, 11-5 for the
period. In that third quarter, the
Chargers hit for only 2 field goals
and went 0-6 from the free throw
line. However, trailing by two to
start the final period, the Chargers
maintained their composure, dug in
on the defensive end, and started to
put the ball in the hoop when it
mattered. They got two big three
point baskets midway through the
period as well as a steal at half
court for a fast break layup.
Suddenly found themselves up by five
with 2:30 left on the clock. A
couple of costly Charger turnovers
kept the Ravens in the game as they
cut the lead to one with less than a
minute to play. The Ravens were
forced to foul and the Chargers
calmly and collectively went to the
free throw line and made a pair of
free throws to put them up by three
with 24 seconds to play. The
Chargers sent their defensive team
onto the floor in hopes of
preventing one last surge from the
home team. The Ravens managed to get
three looks from behind the arc in
that last 24 seconds but nothing
would fall and as the final horn
sounded, the Chargers had come away
with the victory, 34-31.
The Chargers finished the
season with a record of 12-10 and
were the TISAC regular season
co-champions and the TISAC
tournament champions.
Congratulations men on a tremendous
championship season!

CA @ Forsyth Country Day School 37 -
93
The Chargers traveled to Forsyth
Country Day School on Tuesday and
were unprepared for the constant
pressure and aggressive defensive
nature that the Furies brought to
the game. The 29 points that the
home team scored in the first
quarter was only the beginning of a
93-37 loss. The Chargers will try to
regroup at practice on Wednesday and
Thursday as they prepare to travel
to Ravenscroft on Friday to
determine the regular season
conference championship in the
TISAC.

CA hosts Ravenscroft 42 - 37
The JV boys
basketball team hosted TISAC power
Ravenscroft on Friday evening in
what proved to be a real battle
between two 4-0 conference teams.
The Chargers came out fired up and
feeling like they had something to
prove on their home floor. Holding
Ravenscroft to only 8 points in the
first quarter, the Chargers took a
lead after one, 12-8. Unfortunately,
the Chargers came out of the huddle
ice cold from the floor in the
second quarter, making only 3 field
goals during the seven minute
stretch and found themselves down
22-21 at the half. The halftime talk
focused on the opportunity that they
had in front of them as they were
only 14 minutes away from a
conference championship. The
pressure was clearly felt by both
teams as the Chargers could only
mount 1 field goal and 4 total
points in the third quarter.
However, their tenacious defense
held the Ravens to only 4 points of
their own and suddenly the Chargers
were only 1 point and seven minutes
away from guaranteeing themselves a
share of the conference title. The
Chargers played back and forth with
Ravenscroft in the fourth quarter
and with one minute left,
Ravenscroft had the ball in a tie
game. They called a timeout and drew
up a play to kill the clock. But
Josh Carson’s aggressive defense
drew a five second call and the
Chargers had the ball. They killed
the clock but couldn’t get a shot of
at the end of the game and so an
extra period would decide the game.
The extra session was again back and
forth and with a minute left, the
Chargers again found themselves with
the ball. The Chargers designed
another play to kill the clock and
take the final shot but the pressure
on Paul Vandergrift forced him to
the basket and after drawing the
double team, kicked it to Peter
Nasuti at the high post who swished
the jumper to take a two point lead
with 45 seconds to play. The Ravens
missed shots in their final 3
possessions and the Chargers went
6-9 from the free throw line to seal
the game 42-37. With the win, the
Chargers went to 10-8, 5-0 and are
now guaranteed a share of the
conference title. They will travel
to Forsyth Country Day on Tuesday
before playing Ravenscroft one final
time in Raleigh on Friday.
The Chargers
will come focused next week with the
goal of finishing the season with a
winning record and an undefeated
conference season!

CA host Durham Academy 63 - 50
The Boys JV
basketball team hosted DA on Tuesday
night with an opportunity to remain
undefeated and in first place in the
TISAC conference. The Chargers came
out ice cold shooting the basketball
from deep but excellent defense had
the Chargers out to a 13-8 lead
after one period. The second quarter
found more of the same as the
Chargers just couldn’t knock down a
shot but tenacious rebounding and no
second shot opportunities for DA
held them in check offensively again
and the Chargers took an eight point
lead into the locker room, 24-16.
The Chargers did exactly that out of
the locker room led by Josh Carson’s
10 points and Paul Vandergrift’s 8
points, the Chargers put up 23 in
the quarter to lead 47-35. The home
team switched to a 2-3 zone in the
fourth quarter and DA started
shooting from the outside, knocking
down a pair of three’s but it wasn’t
enough as the Chargers held on for a
63- 50. The highlight of the night
came with 1 minute left when Camden
Hyatt came up with an offensive
rebound off a missed free throw,
took two dribbles to his left, and
knocked in his layup. Ali Mansour
came in and played an excellent two
minutes, just missing a scoring
opportunity as the final buzzer
sounded. The Chargers were led by
four different Chargers in double
figures. Josh Carson finished with
17, while Paul Vandergrift, Michael
Kahn, and Jason Sigmon score 14, 12,
and 11 respectively.
The Chargers
now have an overall winning record
of (9-8, 4-0) and will host
Ravenscroft (4-0 in the conference)
on Friday night. The Chargers are
anxious and excited to have an
opportunity like this and will be
working hard in practice over the
next few days to try to take
advantage of such an opportunity.

CA host North Raleigh Christian
Academy 44 - 38
The JV boys
basketball team hosted the Knights
of North Raleigh Christian on Friday
night. The Knights came in looking
to avenge an earlier loss to the
Chargers in which a physical game
ultimately went to CA. The Chargers
were faced with an additional
challenge for the rematch because
their big man, Peter Nasuti, had
gone down with an ankle injury
diving for a loose ball in practice
the previous night. However, the
Chargers came out battling and with
some hot long range shooting for
Paul Vandergrift, grabbed an early
13-11 lead. Unfortunately, the
Chargers started settling for
outside shots and cold shooting
combined with a lack of defensive
intensity caused the Chargers to be
outscored in the second quarter 12-7
resulting in a 20-23 halftime
deficit. The Chargers came out of
the locker room with a major lack of
focus and 3 quick turnovers as well
as two scores from the visiting team
suddenly had the Chargers down 20-27
only one minute into the third
quarter. After a timeout, the
Chargers regained their focus,
jumped into some passing lanes, and
got several steals for transition
layups to get back in the game. The
Chargers only gave up 5 points for
the remainder of the quarter while
managing to score 14 of their own,
including 5 points from sophomore CK
Atkins. Taking a 34-30 lead into the
fourth quarter, the Chargers
appeared in control of the momentum
and the game. However, another quick
offensive burst from the Knights as
well as more cold shooting from the
Chargers had the score tied with
2:30 remaining. The Chargers
switched to a new offensive set and
Bryan Apperson found himself open on
the wing. He launched a three point
shot which bounced in and after a
defensive stop, Michael Kahn hit
another three point shot to put the
Chargers up by six with around one
minute to play. The Chargers
executed an out of bounds play to
perfection, getting the hoop and the
bonus free throw attempt. The
Knights struggled to get up any
decent looks in the last minute and
the Chargers went on to win 44-38.
All in all, the Chargers defensive
intensity won them the game as they
only gave up 11 points in the last
13 minutes of game clock. The
Chargers were led by Michael Kahn
(11 points, 9 rebounds, and 3
steals) as well as Paul Vandergrift
(10 points, 3 assists, and 3
rebounds). The also got key
contributions from James Bennett
(6), CK Atkins (5), Jason Sigmon
(5), and Bryan Apperson (5).
The Chargers
(8-8, 3-0) are undefeated in
conference play and find themselves
in a first place tie with
Ravenscroft. The Chargers have now
won 4 games in a row and host Durham
Academy on Thursday night and
Ravenscroft on Friday night.

Ca @ Durham Academy 59 -
55
The JV boys
basketball team traveled to Durham
Academy on Friday night for a game
with their rivals. The energy from
both sides was obvious during the
pregame warm-ups as this was clearly
a game that meant a lot to both
sides. The Chargers came out of the
gate with their black press and
after a few steals leading to
transition baskets and establishing
a low post game, they led 15-1 after
one period. The Chargers continued
their defensively intensity in the
second quarter as they created many
DA turnovers. However, the Cavaliers
hung around with solid free throw
shooting a big three point basket to
keep the game close at half time
27-25. A halftime talk about
maintaining defensive pressure and
rebounding the basketball had the
Chargers ready for a second half
that proved to be energetic,
intense, and pressure packed. The
Chargers did not shoot the ball
especially well in the third
quarter, only scoring 10 points, but
they managed to hold DA to only 12
meaning that a 37-37 score would be
decided in the fourth quarter. The
Chargers found themselves in foul
trouble with four of their five
starters having at least 3 fouls,
including two which had four. The
Chargers got excellent contributions
from the bench both on the defensive
end of the floor and taking care of
the ball to start the fourth
quarter. With about two minutes to
play, the Chargers had executed
better than the Cavaliers and found
themselves with a seven point lead.
However, the relentless attack from
DA and loss of composure from the
visiting team quickly got DA back in
the game and suddenly the Chargers
were only ahead by two with under a
minute to play. After a timeout to
slow the momentum, the Chargers
created a turnover and hit a huge
three point shot to put them up by
five. Then a defensive stop and two
converted free throws put them up by
seven with 15 seconds to play. After
another timeout, DA drilled a quick
three point shot but time expired
before the Chargers could get the
ball inbounds and CA came away with
the win, 59-55. It was an exciting
game that was just the start of an
outstanding CA night in Durham. The
Chargers got a big game from Peter
Nasuti as he scored 20 points and
had 8 rebounds. Additionally,
Michael Kahn chipped in 14 points, 7
steals, and 6 rebounds in what may
have been his best game of the year.
Josh Carson played brilliant 1st
and 4th quarters as he
chipped in 11 points including the
big three point basket to seal the
win. He also had 5 steals.
The Chargers
are now 2-0 in the TISAC and 7-8
overall. The find themselves in
first place in the conference and
will host NRCA on Friday night. The
Chargers nipped NRCA in Raleigh
earlier in the year and hope to see
a large and rowdy home crowd come to
support the guys. NRCA will
certainly come out looking for
revenge and the home fans would
certainly help the CA boys
immeasurably.

CA @ North Raleigh Christian Academy
50 - 44
The JV boys
basketball team traveled to North
Raleigh Christian Academy Tuesday
night to open 2008 TISAC play. The
Chargers had not won a conference
game in three years and were looking
to prove to themselves that they
could compete for a title this year.
The Chargers struggled out of the
gate with NRCA’s pressure man to man
defense but a few back door looks
and balanced scoring in the first
quarter had them out to a 14-9 lead.
Midway through the second quarter, a
few defensive breakdowns combined
with untimely turnovers got NRCA
back in the game and CA found
themselves down at intermission
22-23. The locker room discussion
focused on the opportunity to win a
conference game as they were only 14
minutes away from doing just that.
Unfortunately, the third quarter
opened with the Chargers not
handling pressure well and NRCA
making a few shots to extend their
lead to as many as seven points. The
Chargers really turned up the
defensive pressure in the full court
to open the fourth quarter with
several steals later, the Chargers
found themselves ahead with 3
minutes to go. After a defensive
stop and outlet pass, the Chargers
knocked down an open 3-point shot to
extend the lead to six with two
minutes remaining. Timely free throw
shooting down the stretch allowed
the Chargers pull away with the
victory 50-44. Peter Nasuti finished
the game with 14 points and Jason
Sigmon pitched in 9 more. Michael
Kahn played a tremendous game on the
defensive end collecting several
steals while Bryan Apperson was all
over the offensive boards.
The Chargers
(6-8, 1-0) won their first TISAC
game in three years and now find
themselves in first place in the
standings! They have an extended
layoff as they do not play again
until they travel to Durham Academy
on Jan 18th.

CA @ Cape Fear Academy
49 - 40
The Chargers
traveled to Cape Fear in Wilmington
for a Friday night affair. After a
two and a half hour bus ride, the
Chargers looked a little jet-lagged
as they were unable to mount much of
an offensive attack in the first
quarter. However, their defensive
intensity kept them in the game as
they trailed only 8-7 after one
period. The Chargers gained some
momentum in the second quarter
getting a few key steals and behind
a clutch three point shot from Jason
Sigmon, they went into the locker
room leading 24-20. The lead could
have been more a 9-25 performance
from the free throw line prevented
them from extending the lead. Cape
Fear came out in the second half
rebounding the ball with aggressive
intensity and a few three point
shots got them closer as they
trailed by only one going into the
fourth quarter. The Chargers showed
a lot of maturity as a team during
the fourth quarter as they rebounded
the ball well, handled the pressure
from Cape Fear, and held their
opponents to only six points.
Offensively, the Chargers got big
three point shots from Paul
Vandergrift and Jason Sigmon as well
as some key made free throws from
Michael Kahn to win 49-40. The
Chargers got a balanced scoring
attack as seven different players
scored. They were led by Jason
Sigmon (11), Michael Kahn (10),
James Bennett (9), Bryan Apperson
(7), and Peter Nasuti (7).
They Chargers
will take the weekend off and have a
tough practice Monday as they
prepare for conference play. The
TISAC opens up on Tuesday when the
Chargers travel to North Raleigh
Christian Academy. The Chargers have
been looking forward to conference
games all year long and plan to come
out with a renewed sense of focus
and intensity as they attempt to
represent Cary Academy and make
their school proud!

December 20, 2007
The JV boys
basketball team traveled to Cardinal
Gibbons to participate in a three
day holiday tournament.
Unfortunately, the combination of
being outmatched physically combined
with a lackluster effort resulted in
the first two games being quite
lopsided. In the opening game, the
Chargers were unable to handle the
aggressive, in-your-face style of
Orange high and were defeated 77-20.
The next day the Chargers came out
looking like they had tired legs and
as a result, the press did not
provide many steals or easy scoring
opportunities. However, the Chargers
did rally to score 17 fourth quarter
points but the deficit was too much
to handle as they lost 63-46. The
last game of the tournament pitted
CA’s boys against a team from
Asheboro. The first quarter showed
more of the same results as they
quickly fell behind 22-12. However,
the Chargers managed to rally during
the second and third quarters
including a stretch of three
straight steals and 3-point field
goals to end the third quarter as
they led 47-42. Unfortunately, they
could not match the intensity that
Asheboro came out with in the fourth
quarter and defensively they were
unable to stop the hot shooting and
aggressive rebounding opponent. The
final score was 61-57. The Chargers
will enjoy some much needed rest
over the holiday break before
returning to action against Cape
Fear on January 4th.

December 14, 2007
CA vs. Cary Christian School
56 - 50
The JV boys
basketball team hosted Cary
Christian to complete the home and
home series with them. A slow start
shooting the basketball from both
teams resulted in a low scoring
first quarter but a couple of
buckets from Bryan Apperson and a
3-point field goal from Yates
Parrish had the Chargers in the lead
8-7 after one. The second quarter
showed the Chargers running their
“black” press to perfection as they
created several steals and layups
that resulted in an offensive
explosion of 27 points including 8
points in the quarter from James
Bennett as well as several steals
and assists from Michael Kahn. The
Chargers went into the locker room
thrilled with the second quarter and
a 35-14 lead. Unfortunately, the
Chargers were not prepared for a
rejuvenated Cary Christian team as
they came out of the locker room the
more aggressive team and the hotter
shooting team. Being outscored by 11
in the third quarter, the Chargers
still led 41-31 after three
quarters. More of the same in the
fourth quarter resulted in the
Chargers involved in a three point
game with two minutes to play.
However, a huge three point shot
from James Bennett, a driving layup
from Michael Kahn, and clutch free
throw shooting down the stretched
allowed the Chargers to hold on for
a 56-50 win. The Chargers were led
by James Bennett who finished with
18 points, Michael Kahn’s 13, and
Yates Parrish who hit a pair of
three point field goals.
The Chargers quickly learned
that no lead is too big and that
they always need to come out of the
locker room with more composure and
more aggression than they had in the
first half regardless of the score!

December 11, 2007
CA vs. Wake Christian Academy
58 - 67
The Chargers
welcomed Wake Christian to Cary
Academy on Tuesday night for a game
that turned out to be very evenly
matched. The Chargers sloppy play in
the first few minutes cost them
early as they missed three quick
layups and fell behind 9-2. However,
their black press proved too much
for the opponents to handle early
and the score was tied at 15 after
the first quarter. Another quick hit
from the visitors had the Chargers
down by five as the second period
started and again the Chargers
responded to tie the score at 33 at
halftime.
A quick discussion at
halftime had the Chargers believing
that they were the better team and
they came out hot to start the third
quarter, taking a quick six point
lead and finished the third quarter
with a 47-45 lead. The fourth
quarter was back and forth the whole
way and with 59 seconds left, the
Chargers found themselves with the
ball in a tied game. They burned the
clock to 10 seconds before
attempting a pick and roll which
ultimately failed as they lost
control of the basketball as time
expired. In overtime, Wake Christian
was the better team, executing their
offense to perfection many times and
outscored the Chargers 9-0 in the
extra frame. Key contributing
players included Peter Nasuti who
finished with 17 points as well as
Michael Kahn (10), CK Atkins (9),
and Yates Parrish (7). Bryan
Apperson played a nice all around
game finishing with 6 points, 6
rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists.
The Chargers (3-5,0-0) were
disappointed with the loss but are
still a confident group and know
that many more victories are on the
way. They host Cary Christian to
finish their home and home series
with them on Friday night.

December 7, 2007
CA vs. South Granville High School
37 - 73
The Chargers
hosted South Granville High on
Friday night and unfortunately were
unable to handle the constant and
ferocious pressure applied by the
visiting team. Early turnovers and
hot shooting caused the Chargers to
face an early deficit of 15-5 after
the first quarter. The Chargers
played better offensively in the
second quarter scoring ten points,
however, a series of turnovers and
layups on the other end caused the
Chargers to be down 18 at the break.
The pressure never ceased as South
Granville got 40 second half points
and cruised to a 73-37 victory. The
Chargers (3-4, 0-0) will be spending
significant time this upcoming week
in practice on handling pressure and
finishing around the rim. They host
Wake Christian and Cary Christian
next week.

December 4, 2007
CA @ Cary Christian 62 -
51
The JV boys
basketball team traveled to Cary
Christian Tuesday night. The
Chargers introduced their new
“black” press and created several
steals in the first few minutes of
the game. The turnovers along with
hot shooting from Bryan Apperson and
James Bennett resulted in twenty
first quarter points as the Chargers
took a 10 point lead after one
period. Six points mostly created
from offensive rebounding from Peter
Nasuti and hot shooting from behind
the arc and from the line from Yates
Parrish resulted in a 35-28 lead at
intermission. The Chargers had
struggled in previous games starting
the third quarter with energy but
came out of the locker room with
enthusiasm and hot shooting which
combined to result in an extension
of the lead to 53-41 going into the
fourth quarter. In an effort to
shorten the game, the Chargers went
into their circle-2 zone defense and
Cary Christian was unable to shoot
their way back into the game. The
final score was 62-51 as the
Chargers got scoring from nine
different players. Leading the way
was James Bennett with 16 points
including two 3-point shots and a
perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe.
Bryan Apperson scored 8 of his 12
points in the first quarter
including a pair of threes and Peter
Nasuti and Michael Kahn scored nine
and seven respectively.
The Chargers
(3-3, 0-0) finally return home for a
game on Friday against South
Granville.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Chargers
traveled to Greensboro on an
overnight trip and began with a game
on Friday night against Wesleyan
Christian. The Chargers fell behind
quickly as Wesleyan came out of the
gates hot hitting four perimeter
jumpers including three from behind
the arc. Combined with a slow
shooting first quarter and foul
trouble, the Chargers found
themselves well behind 19-5. The
Chargers dug in defensively during
the second stanza, holding Wesleyan
to only four points but again the
Chargers cold shooting held them to
only nine themselves as they trailed
23-14 at the half. Both teams came
out of the locker room hot scoring a
combined 28 points in the third
quarter but the Chargers were only
able to cut into the deficit by two
as they went into the fourth quarter
trailing 36-29. Paul Vandergrift
contributed all five of his points
during the third. The Chargers were
wound up and still convinced that
they could win the game as long as
they knocked some shots down in the
fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the
poor shooting continued as they only
managed one field goal in the final
eight minutes and Wesleyan Christian
won 43-33. The Chargers were again
led by Peter Nasuti’s 14 points. The
Chargers were encouraged they
despite the poor shooting, they
managed to win the final 3 periods
by a total of four points. The
Chargers (2-2, 0-0) are now very
close to becoming an outstanding
basketball team and as soon as some
shots start to fall, they will be a
formidable opponent for anyone in
the TISAC.
After a meal at
the Steak and Shake and a night at
the Best Western, the Chargers woke
up early for an 11:30am contest
against Greensboro Day. The Chargers
came out of the gate with a lot of
energy that translated into a lot of
defensive pressure and several
missed layups. After an 8-8 first
quarter, the Chargers settled down
and exploded for 17 points in the
second quarter and took a 25-14 lead
into the half. Unfortunately, the
Chargers defensive pressure failed
to come out of the locker room with
the team and a 35 point explosion by
Greensboro day in the second half
resulted in a four point loss for
the Chargers 49-45. Peter Nasuti
(19), Jason Sigmon (9), and James
Bennett (8) led the Chargers in
scoring. The overnight trip was an
outstanding one for the Chargers and
they grew a lot both as people and
as a team. With a few minor
adjustments, they are looking
forward to an excellent three months
coming up.
The Chargers
(2-3, 0-0) will travel to Cary
Christian on Tuesday and with a few
minor adjustments and some rest,
will be ready for a challenge and
hope to get back to their winning
ways!

Ca @ Word of God Christian Academy
36 - 51
The JV Boys
basketball team took their show on
the road for their first contest
away from home on Wednesday when
they faced off against the Holy Rams
of Word of God. The boys got off to
a fast start going up against a
quick athletic team as they got a
quick bucket from Peter Nasuti and a
3-point shot from Michael Kahn in
the first 90 seconds. However, they
could only manage one more field
goal for the remainder of the period
and fell behind 19-7 after one
quarter. The second quarter showed
more inconsistent shooting but their
defense held their opponents in
check and so they only took an 11
point deficit into the halftime
break. Big third quarters from Paul
Vandergrift and Nasuti got the
Chargers to within seven with 8
minutes to play. The Chargers
continued to play well as Word of
God began to panic and the Chargers
found themselves down only 4 with
three minutes left. Unfortunately,
the Chargers couldn’t find a way to
score again and their full court
press and fouls at the end of the
game caused Word of God to pull away
with a 51-36 victory. The Chargers
were led by Peter Nasuti’s 17
points.
The Chargers
(2-1, 0-0) next travel on an
overnight trip to play Wesleyan
Christian and Greensboro Day this
weekend.

CA vs. Trinity Christian 69 -
52
The JV boys
basketball team hosted Trinity
Christian on Thursday for their
second game in two nights. The
Chargers used the momentum they
gained in their first victory to
jump out to a hot start during the
first quarter. Behind nine points
from Peter Nasuti and eight from
Paul Vandergrift including a
40-footer as time expired gave CA a
22-8 first quarter lead. They
continued their hot shooting during
the second quarter scoring a total
of 16 points in the second 8-minutes
including three point shots from
Michael Kahn and Bryan Apperson.
Trinity Christian made a push during
the third quarter getting the lead
down to 14 but were not able to
sustain the momentum as the Chargers
played well in the fourth quarter
and pulled away to a 69-52 final.
The 69 points were a season high for
the team which again got balanced
scoring from 8 different Chargers

CA vs. St. David's School
57 - 38
The JV boys
basketball team got off to a fast
start on Wednesday night as they
opened their season at home with St.
David’s. The Chargers were
aggressive in their traps and
started the game on a 17-5 run.
After a bit of sloppy defense and
failure to take care of the ball,
St. David’s got back in the game
during the second period but after a
3-point shot from Michael Kahn and
three inside scores from Peter
Nasuti, the Chargers reestablished
themselves and took a 29-16 halftime
lead. The relentless attack of the
Chargers began wearing down the
visiting team and behind a 4-5
performance from the free throw line
as a team and a back breaking
3-point shot from Bryan Apperson,
the Chargers pulled away in the
third quarter and eventually won
57-38.
Cary Academy
played a tremendous team oriented
game, getting scores from nine
different players including 19 from
Peter Nasuti, 9 from Paul
Vandergrift, and 6 from Jason
Sigmond. The Chargers outrebounded
St. David’s 57-34 including 20 from
Peter Nasuti and 6 each from Bryan
Apperson and Paul Vandergrift.
The
Chargers (1-0, 0-0) host Trinity
Christian on Thursday November 15th
at 4:30pm.
