Independent School Choral Festival

When:             Sunday, October 21 & Monday, October 22
Where:           Rehearsals @ St. Mary’s School
                        Performance @ Meymandi Hall
Times:            Rehearsals:               Sunday 3:00 – 9:30 AM
                                                            Monday 8:30 – 9:00 PM
                        Performance: Monday 7:00 PM – Meymandi Hall
Cost:               $35.00 per person for meals – Check to Cary Academy
Travel:            We will meet and get picked up at the actual rehearsal venue.
                        If students need assistance with transportation, families will work
                                    together to share transportation.

At the Independent School Choral Festival, students from many North Carolina Independent Schools will join together for a choral music event.  Students learn selected music during regular class time at Cary Academy.  When we arrive at the festival, a clinician, Mr. Deen Entsminger from Belmont University will work with the students on Sunday and Monday.  Students are expected to attend both days in their entirety or they may not participate.  The Cary Academy Singers and Cary Academy Ensemble will also perform two selections for the other participating school during the performance.  Cary Academy has not participated in the Independent School Choral Festival for the past two years.  It is exciting to have this event back in the Raleigh area and have the opportunity to participate.  It is also a wonderful opportunity for our students to work with a college clinician. 

I hope you will make this event a priority for your child and also plan to attend our concert at Meymandi Hall on Monday evening.  More detailed information will be given out to the students closer to the actual date of the event. 

Please fill out the permission slip and return it to Mrs. Holcombe no later than Tuesday, October 9.  Make sure you include your meal money in a check made payable to Cary Academy.
