High School Honors Chorus 2007

Audition piece:  “Ballad of Green Broom” (#5 from Five Flower Songs) by Benjamin Britten –
                               Boosey & Hawkes OCTB1875

You can find the midi files on the Upcoming Events page.  I will tell you the piece is rhythmically EXTREMELY difficult.  If you learn any of the rhythms or entrances incorrectly, it will be VERY difficult to correct.  Work carefully.

    Tenor - top of 7 2nd measure - bottom of 12
    Bass - top of 8 - bottom of 11
Audition times
    Monday/Tuesday August 27 & 28 - during lunch, during break or immediately after school
    Wednesday, August 29 - those chosen to audition for the Regional auditions will receive forms and
                         permissions to audition
    Friday, August 30 - All forms, permission slip  and $15.00 (Checks to CA) must be turned in -
                        Forms will be mailed out that afternoon.

*****   If you are selected to represent Cary Academy at the Regional Auditions, you can attend a workshop to help you learn the music.  You will attend these only if you chose and if you can provide your own transportation.  There are several workshops available for you across the state.  I have received information about the following three:
