Academy went up against Durham Academy for the first round of the
TISAC Tournament on October 23. While they may not have won, they did not
go quietly. The Chargers fought the Cavaliers till the end. With many
great hits from Lisa Fulenwider, Larkin Willis, and Christa Fulenwider,
the Chargers hammered many hard spikes at the opposition. Sasha Weiss and Maria May played a very strong setting
game and set up many of the plays including quick sets, back sets, and
shots. The Chargers could not have performed well without the hard
work and effort of their defensive players: Vanessa Hamer, Abby Corry,
Melissa Phillips, Sarah Kenny, Judy Grimmer, Dana Cippollini, Meagan
Singer. The Chargers finished their season with a 10 and 15 overall
season record.
