Football
is perceived by many to be America’s new favorite pastime. The game of
football has probably created the most traditions, caused more pride,
and motivated the most people of any sport in America today. It brings
pride and spirit to many schools and that pride carries on in support
from fans. It sets the competitive tone for the whole school and
creates a great and powerful binding force; a feeling of
‘belonging’.

Due
to losing 11 seniors, the soccer team definitely will have a hole to
fill next
season. Including an All-State recipient and all four captains, the
core of this team will graduate in June. From the eyes of a
lower classman, here is a tribute to these hard working men.

Fights 'Til the End

Academy went up against Durham Academy for the first round of the
TISAC Tournament on October 23. While they may not have won, they did not
go quietly. The Chargers fought the Cavaliers till the end. With many
great hits from Lisa Fulenwider, Larkin Willis, and Christa Fulenwider,
the Chargers hammered many hard spikes at the opposition.
