Hi! My name is Katy Rosenbaum, and I’m a senior this year. I was born
in the lovely state of North Carolina, I have lived other places, like
New York, Florida, and Texas. As
far as my future, well, I love writing, foreign languages, traveling,
so who knows... I may become a missionary or diplomat, author, or even
a teacher. I do know, however, that I will live in Europe someday. I
love music as well and listen to all different kinds.

When I look into a person's eyes, what do I see? I see fire, their
inner light, and their charisma, the essence of the soul. I see their
soul burning with a light that pleads to escape and fill the world
with fire, to overcome the shadow with a bright, pulsating light. I
see who they are and what they aspire to become. And I hear their
inner music, their fiery spirit singing, expressing heartwrenching
emotions to the world, or whoever takes the time to listen.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest
fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our
darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be
brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not
to be? Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing
enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure
around you.We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is
within us. It is not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we
let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission
to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence
automatically liberates others." --attributed to Nelson Mandela
