North Carolina State Fair Draws Record Crowd

October 13th to October 22nd this year, the
North Carolina State Fair was in town.
It brought with it good ol’ southern cuisine, art exhibits,
livestock exhibitions, and, of course, the rides.
Most every student in the area can say that they went to the
fair at least once.

The
Perfect Last Show...

Alltel Pavilion
could not have asked for a better final concert than what they hosted
on Tuesday, October 17th. Counting Crows and Live, the
headliners, enraptured a large audience with a
fantastic show. By the end of the
first song, a swelling rendition of “Lightning Crashes,” most of
the crowd was on its feet.

Outkast has always
pushed the limits of hip-hop with their experimental
beats and southern-fried version of positive rap. With some straight
"pimpish rap" thrown in there to keep their street
credibility, they have accomplished something that other groups as
original such as Hieroglyphics and Genaside have not been able to
touch. They push the barriers further with their newest release,
Stankonia, named after their recording studio in Southwest Atlanta.

Angel: The New Fox on Fox

If people think that Jen from "Dawson's
Creek" is a girl with attitude, than they obviously have not met
Max from Fox's brand new show "Dark Angel." Actually, "Dark Angel" is not at all like "Dawson's
Creek". Instead, it is a futuristic action show that features a
leather-wearing, motorcycle riding, kickboxing, genetically
enhanced girl named Max. Max is from the first batch of
superhuman children made as a top-secret project in the 21st century by a section of the
government called Manticore.

self-titled album, the Backstreet Boys have been topping the charts
with one song after the other. In 1999, with the release of
"Millennium", the Backstreet Boys set a record for sale
releases for that year, selling over 1.3 million copies of their album
in the first week, and over 30 million worldwide, making it 12 times
platinum.
