Easy to buy, easy to use, great money potential for the school 

Here’s how it works.  Families purchase prepaid cards and gift certificates from Cary Academy to use same as cash at hundreds of retailers, restaurants, groceries and gas stations in our area and across the country.   You don’t have to change your shopping locations, you will find from the list of participating retailers, many of your favorite stores and restaurants are on board. These are the same certificates/cards you would buy directly from the store but buying them through the “Charger Bucks” program, you can earn back from 2% - 20% of your purchase for Cary Academy.   

The hardest thing to do in the beginning will be getting in the routine of thinking “Charger Bucks”.  It will require you to think a little ahead and plan accordingly, but once you get into the swing of using “Charger Bucks” they will be no going back.  Cary Academy has an opportunity to earn thousands of dollars without asking any families or friends to sell anything…

Back to school shopping…  Staples? Office Depot? Office Max? Gap? Talbot’s? Banana Republic? Old Navy? Land’s End? DSW Shoe Warehouse? Eddie Bauer? Foot Locker? Marshall’s? Circuit City? Dick’s Sporting Goods? CVS? Barnes & Nobles?  Planning on visiting any of these stores for back to school?  Think ahead and buy your “Charger Bucks” before you go. 

Birthdays, Baby or Wedding Showers…Think ahead and buy “Charger Bucks” to either shop with or to give as a gift card. 

Holidays…a great time to use “Charger Bucks”.  There will even be a booth for “Charger Bucks” sales at the Holiday Shoppe. 

Projects around the house… Don’t pass up that opportunity to buy “Charger Bucks” for Home Depot or Lowes.  Think what 3 – 4% of those purchases could bring in for Cary Academy. 

Dining out this weekend…  Think ahead and buy “Charger Bucks” if your palate is calling you to one of the many participating restaurants.  Check them out – a wide array of choices from Arby’s to Applebee’s, from Outback to Bonefish Grill, from Damon’s to Boston Market…Many, many options! 

Caffeine junkie… what not get a Starbucks card and be ready every morning? 

THE BIG TICKET…..Groceries from LOWES FOOD… 

Can you imagine if you just purchased “Charger Bucks” for all your groceries from Lowes Foods?  This is where Cary Academy could hit the jackpot… 

Lowes Food is not listed on the participating retailer list, but they DO PARTICIPATE, we just buy directly from the corporate office.

It won’t take much effort here…you know roughly what your family spends per week/month at the grocery store.  Just replace paying with cash, check or charge card with “Charger Bucks”.  Cards are 100% face value of your purchase, so what do you really have to lose?  Just ‘free money’ for our school ~ actually 6% of your total grocery bill!  Just think if only 50 families do this regularly.  The possibilities are amazing! 

JUST TRY IT… Familiarize yourself with your favorite participating stores and restaurants and try to plan ahead a little.  Then just give it a shot.  Once you get into the routine of purchasing the cards, it will become easy money for our school. 

MAKIN’ IT EASY AND ACCESSIBLE… –Although you can order “Charger Bucks” any time from Dorrys McArdle, Development Coordinator in the Advancement Office, she will be out taking orders on Monday afternoons during parent pick-up while you are idle in line – beginning the week after Labor Day.  By taking orders at the beginning of the week, gift cards and certificates will be back and available by the end of the week to do your weekend dining and shopping.  Order forms are available by clicking here and a list of participating companies is available on-line at http://www.glscrip.com and click on the Retailers link.

We are trying to make this program easy and accessible so Cary Academy families & friends will use it and use it often. 

How do I make an order?

Fill out an order form found on the website and have your cash or check (made payable to Cary Academy) ready Monday afternoons and look for Dorrys  She will be identified as the “Charger Bucks Gal” by her one-of-a-kind apron and will stroll along the parent pick up line to pick up order forms and money.  Then look for her on Friday afternoons, distributing all the “Charger Bucks” purchased that week.    Please be patient as we all get into the swing of purchasing and using “Charger Bucks” and iron out any beginning wrinkles that might occur.   

PLEASE NOTE you can order “Charger Bucks” any time from Dorrys.  Just send in your order form and payment with your child to drop off in the Middle and Upper School offices or drop it off in the Administrative Offices.

FAMILIAR FUNDRAISING MAINSTAYS…

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION – Don’t forget to clip box tops off all your General Mills products.  Cary Academy receives $.10 for each box top submitted, which may not sound like much but it definitely adds up.  Save up a Ziploc snack bag of them and send it in to the Middle or Upper School offices.  Clip ‘em, don’t trash ‘em for free money!

HARRIS TEETER, TARGET AND FOOD LION all give money back to our school when you shop at their store.  Just use your cards at checkout, after designating Cary Academy and help us collect this easy money. Take the time TODAY to register so you don’t have to worry about it and can start earning money right away!

Harris Teeter – You must re-link each year!  When you use your VIC card next, tell the cashier to relink you to Cary Academy #2102 and you’ll be set for the year.  They return 1% on all Harris Teeter brand purchases to Cary Academy.

Target Charge Card – Call 1-800-316-6142 or visit a local Target store and choose Cary Academy #2013 as your school of choice.  Then just use your Target credit card when shopping ~ usually they return 1% of purchases but from now until September 5^th   2005, Target will give back 2% of total purchases!

Food Lion – Grocery purchases here can also earn money.  Visit www.foodlion.com/ or call 1-800-210-9569 and register Cary Academy.  Then just shop and use your MVP card.  Food Lion will return up to $350 annually to the school for MVP product purchases.
