Methods of Instruction

The teacher as decision-maker is emphasized here. The methods of instruction indeed vary by activity and the learner. However, the days of the teacher as the only source of knowledge and answers are behind us. From Howard Gardner’s work on Mulitiple Intelligences, we know that there are at least eight types of learners. A melange of methods for instruction will support each student’s strength. Discourse and exploration are always encouraged regardless of the format.
