Course
Description:
This course is an in-depth exploration of multimedia
production using diverse digital technologies to design,
produce, edit, and distribute video and audio sources.
Students will learn the techniques of scripting, modeling,
animating, editing, special effects, compositing, and
creating and distributing audio and visual projects using
original-sourced and third-party images and sounds including
still visuals, animated visuals, sound sources, and live
footage. Students will be expected to complete multiple
projects during the course and by year-end will produce a
professional quality, visual segment and distribute the
project via tape, DVD, or web streaming file.
This
project-based class will be taught in collaboration with
other departments including English (design, scripting, and
storyboarding), Computer Science (web design), and Arts (set
design and lighting and audio design and control). This
course will concentrate on digital sources rather than live
source production (which is taught as a separate Video Tech
course).
